askSlim's Evolution: From Cboe Trading Floor to a Leading Online Technical Analysis and Trader Education Innovator.
askSlim was founded by Steve Miller – nicknamed “Slim” because of his SLM trading floor badge – who began his trading career on the Cboe floor 50 years ago.
In 2008, the renowned SFO (Stocks, Futures and Options) magazine introduced the “Ask Slim” column where Miller shared insights into the technical and psychological aspects of trading.
In 2004 Miller transitioned the column to askSlim.com bringing his expertise to a wider audience online. In 2012, Miller became a host on the TastyTrade Network, then in 2015 he relaunched askSlim.com globally. Today, askSlim.com is a premier destination for professional technical analysis, advanced trade planning tools and comprehensive educational resources.
askSlim Products and Services
askSlim offers premium memberships supported by Miller and his team. There are five membership options tailored to meet the needs of different trading styles including a dedicated day trader service. Core to all membership levels is ongoing chart analysis.
Using Cboe's Market Data
Cboe's market data powers askSlim's most innovative planning tools, enabling askSlim's proprietary trend and momentum algorithms to filter and convert the data into clear visual bullish and bearish conditions. This data is crucial for tools like the Market Conditions Monitor (MCM) and Day Trader service, and the integration allows askSlim to offer traders some of the most comprehensive and leading-edge trade planning tools.
Day Trader Service and Market Conditions Monitor™ (MCM™)
The DayTrader Service and Market Conditions Monitor™ (MCM™) are two of askSlim's innovative new services and trade planning tools.
The DayTrader Service supports intraday swing traders and provides critical insights into market conditions to support the trade planning process with Directional Bias and Trend Strength and Sustainability Indicators.
The askSlim Market Conditions Monitor (MCM) is an innovative tool featuring proprietary automated momentum analysis technology. Scanning markets throughout the trading day, the MCM uses askSlim's reliable momentum indicators to track changes across multiple timeframes. Key features include decreasing the odds of trading against primary momentum and increasing the odds of participating in the next directional impulse move.
Moving Forward
askSlim is committed to maintaining its innovative forward-thinking philosophy. Exciting new development projects are in the pipeline to continue to enhance the experience for the askSlim community of active traders, investors, and technical analysis enthusiasts.
